Q. Are Dogs colorblind?
A. They can see some colors but they have only 2 photoreceptors as us humans have 3. That explains why they seem to be more colorblind than humans. Does that make sense? Well first of all they can see some colors such as yellow, blue, and gray. They can see other colors but not as good.
During the Howlaween season, you may have quite a bit of Halloween
decorations and your new puppy may have never
even heard or been hear during Halloween, depending upon the
age. Anyway, you may need to supervise your puppy more because they will be miss or
mister curious. They will be very curious. We love Christmas
and so we put our Christmas tree up yesterday and
Rosebud is just fascinated with it. You
will learn more about the Christmas
season later on. Toodaloo!
Dog food does help if you want your dog to be more content and things like that. This kind of dog food will not keep your dog more content:
That has chicken by-product meal in it and that is not good for your dog. We used to feed her it but she would go around and look for stuff to get into. You can feed it to your dog and there are other dog foods with by-product meals that are not good for them but, it’s your choice, you can feed it to them. There are much more healthy dog foods that you can also feed your dog that are great choices for them. Such as Castor and Pollux, Nature’s Recipe, and Wellness.
These are great dog foods to feed your dog and keep him/her healthy.
The antler bones are a bone that are pretty durable and they cannot chew them apart as easily as regular dog bones. The deer antler is a simple deer antler and Rosebud loves them. We got her another one the other day because she had to through one away. It was to small she had had it for so long and she knawed it down so we took it away from her because we were afraid that she would choke on it.
That is a deer antler. SO that is what we got her. You can get them at Petsmart, Petco, and wag.com, plus many other stores or online stores.
Even if your puppy is 6 months old, think of her or him as a baby. She of he just wants attention and you to think that she of he is cute. They also need repition for training and taking them out to go potty you also need repition. YOU need to review and rework until the command or anything really settles in his or her brain, really, I mean their only 6 months old. Rosebud thinks that she does not have to grow up as fast as you think. Yeah, a baby you can still hold and everything, but it doesn’t matter, she or he thinks
“ I am still a baby, give me some attention please!!!!”
They may want to get into something just to catch your attention for you to give him or her attention.
Cleopatra asks if she can go on the computer, Rosebud wants attention so she may get into something to get the attention that she wants so bad. Then Cleopatra needs to get off the computer to get something from Rosebud and she gets put in her kennel and cries because that is not what she wants. Eventually, Rosebud settles down and sleeps and then Cleopatra is done and gets her out but then she will give Rosebud attention and training sessions.
You should get my point, your puppy will get into trouble for attention that she or he wants but in return she gets something such as a time out which you think that she just wants to get into something but he or she wants attention.
As you probably know, the female dog goes into heat about every 6 months. She wants to escape your yard or your house to find a boy dog to mate with and have puppies.
TO PREVENT UNWANTED LITTERS OF PUPPIES HERE ARE THE FACTS:
- A HEAT PERIOD LASTS ABOUT 21 DAYS
- A DOG CAN HAVE SWELLING IN THE VULVA AREA AND A LITTLE BLOOD DISCHARGE
- SOME DOGS EXPERIENCE SYMPTOMS OF PHANTOM PREGNANCY WHICH MEANS THAT THEY MAY HAVE A LITTLE EXTRA WEGHT. HER TUMMY MAY BE MORE SENSITIVE AND IF YOUR DOG LIKES TUY RUBS SHE MAY BE MORE WARY OF THEM AT THIS TIME.
- MALE DOGS CAN SMELL AN ODOR THE FEMALE GIVES OFF THAT THE HUMANS CANNOT TELL EXISTS. MALES WILL COME FROM MILES AWAY TO BREED WITH YOUR FEMALE.
- YOUR FEMALE MAY WANT TO BE OUTSIDE A LOT MORE BECAUSE SHE HAS THE URGE TO MATE. YOU MAY HAVE TROUBLE KEEPING HER INSIDE, BUT TRY TO.
- YOUR DOG MAY HAVE A CHANGE OF MOOD. SHE MAY BE MORE LOVABLE OR MORE AGGRESSIVE. ROSEBUD WAS MORE LOVABLE, WHICH WAS GOOD.
- 6 MONTHS OF AGE IS WHEN THEY USUALLY COME INTO THEIR FIRST HEAT.
I hope that this tells you the facts that you should know to know if your dog is in heat.
When your dog comes of age, she/he needs to get spayed/neutered. Spayed and neutered means that the veterinarian puts anesthesia in a shot to put them in a deep sleep. They put a breathing tube down their throat so that they can still breathe. Before the general anesthesia, they give them some pain medicine to help with the pain. While under anesthesia they oxygen and heart rate during the surgery to make sure that he/she is breathing steadily and they are having a steady heartbeat. Dogs and female cats are put on a heating pads for the surgery and are not placed on one right after.
The females have an incision from below their belly button to their abdomen. The reproductive tract, both ovaries, and the uterus are taken out. Then the incision is closed with two rows of stiches under the skin that will dissolve and be absorbed by the skin over time. The skin is closed up with skin glue, skin staples, or stitches.
The males have an incision made from the base of the penis to the nearest scrotum. Both testicles are removed through this incision. The skin is closed with the same stuff as the females is closed with.
I HOPE THAT THIS HELPS YOU WITH TAKING IN YOUR DOG OR CAT FOR SPAYING OR NEUTERING.
Rosebud says, “Can I go to school with you now?”
“Sorry No you cute little pumpkin.” says Cleopatra.
“How come can’t I,” Rosebud asks.
“Because school is not for dogs and puppies,” says Cleopatra.
“So, I could at least come for show and tell couldn’t I?” Rosebud asks.
“That may be possible…..” Cleopatra trails off.
“What is that supposed to mean,” says Rosebud.
“It means that you would have to ask Mommy to take you,” Cleopatra responds.
“Why can’t I just walk up there and stay the whole day?” says Rosebud.
“Because…..” says Cleopatra and Rosebud is off and comes back with a uniform on!
“What is this all about miss Rosebud?” asks Cleopatra.
“Simple I am dressed up for school can’t you not see that?” she says.
“Oh, too bad you are still not coming,” says Cleopatra.
“Aww Nuts,” says Rosebud.
“Sorry,” I say.
“Oh, well I have another plan!” says Rosebud.
“Now how do you like it?” says Rosebud.
“Nice,” says Cleopatra.
“So I can go to school!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!” says Rosebud.
“No, but you can play all day instead of sitting in school all day,” says Cleopatra.
“OK, I’ll do that, I Guess.” says Rosebud.
When your puppy goes to the vet for the first time, they will often tell you to get heartworm pills for her/him. Yes they cost money but then again it can prevent your dog from getting heart worm. We give it to Rosebud every 1st day of each month. It makes since because we don’t have to worry about forgetting it.
Frontline is a liquid form of medication to put on her back so that it can prevent ticks and fleas and flea eggs. It does help I do have to say that. Even if you don’t live around trees, check your dog to make sure that he/she doesn’t have ticks. If you dog does live around trees it is even more necessary.
