As I said on Monday, I am going to start in with agility with Rosebud. I am digging into library books and internet resources to find out more about the sport. I got this really cool book from the library about agility, and I wrote down a list of the hurdles to know what they are and they show pictures of them in the book. I made a jump upstairs out of Rosebud’s laundry basket, her rug, and our trays. Then, I have her sit on one side, I go over to the other side, and say “Ok! Jump!” and she does. I use Simply Nourish Freeze Dried Chicken and Fruit dog treats and break the treats into tiny pea sized or a little bigger pieces. Then, I reward her when she jumps over the hurdle. Here is a picture of the treats:
They do not only have chicken in them, they have fruits and vegetables too. I like doing this and am only going to use the treats when she is just starting, and until she will do it on command without a treat. She is getting there, she will only do it for so long and then she is tuckered out. Agility is going to be awesome and we are checking into classes and places for agility training. I enjoy doing activities with Rosebud, such as the training sessions that we are going through and I think that agility will be awesome.
